Your favourite messenger app is looking to play a more important role in your life and that of your consumers. WhatsApp has grown from being a standard instant messaging service to a platform that can now support an ecommerce business, enable remote learning and building deeper connections with your customer base.
Using WhatsApp isn’t new to O&L brands, in the past the channel was used for customer feedback and support and also used as a campaign entry platform, most notable with the Tafel Lager Beats Of Namibia competition. With constant new developments in the space, this year we saw Digify Africa partner with WhatsApp to create Naledi – a WhatsApp bot that allows access to digital skills. The bot focuses on empowering youth with digital marketing skills, including Facebook digital marketing products and services, particularly targeted at start-ups and entrepreneurs.
Our WhatApp partner in South Africa, Techsys Digital also assisted in the creation of Naledi, along with running the latest “Fit Me” campaign for Maybelline which had over 3500 interactions in its first two weeks. Techsys Digital have also made things easier for anyone to get using WhatsApp bots with their Buildabot platform, albeit still in beta. The platform allows anyone to build a WhatsApp Bot in under 60 seconds for free (our favourite 4 letter word after data). The Buildabot platform is easy to use structuring the drag an drop elements in a journey builder format.
